Description: During this week, encourage all of your family members to take part in the Pay It Forward Challenge by demonstrating how everyone can share, show kindness and be thoughtful. Some examples might include raking someone's lawn, making a meal together and delivering it to another family, donating last year's winter coats to charity, and/or donating to a local food bank. Just a few ideas to get you started but don't stop there!

Description: Parents and children can gather at circle time to listen to the story "Grandpas are for Finding Worms" and talk about family activities and how each family is unique. Sing and perform to the song "Where is Thumbkin". Parents are encouraged to bring in photos of their family and the children can talk about who is in them and what they are doing. At the art table, parents and children can work together to create a unique family collage using old magazine pictures to represent their family members. Information and activity sheets from the NFW website will be handed out to families as they leave.

Description: Throughout the week, listen to CHMN daily for the new scavenger hunt clues. Pick up a form for the Family Fun Picture Contest from the Rec Center or Mackenzie Counselling. There will be Family Swimming during open swim time on Tuesday, October 4; Family Skating throughout the day on Friday, October 7; Family Sock Hop on Saturday, October 8 from 1-3pm; and a Family Pancake Breakfast (by donation) at the Royal Canadian Legion on Sunday, October 9 from 9-11am. There will also be prize draws thoughout the week for event participation and a grand prize draw from all completed ballots and evaluations.
