During this annual Volunteer Week, April 15-21, 2012, we here at FRP Canada are thinking with gratitude about the enormous contribution made by many volunteers. Some examples of volunteering which have benefitted FRP Canada this year include:

Members of advisory committees provide input for several national projects.

The Endeavour Volunteer Consulting team analyzed opportunities for organizational improvements (see article below).

Rob Day, an HR consultant in Toronto, reviewed FRP Canada’s Personnel Policies and made recommendations for modifications.

The eight members of the Family Education Committee annually review applications for the Certified Canadian Family Educator designation.
We would like to give special mention to twelve very dedicated volunteers, the
FRP Canada Board of Directors. These individuals from across Canada contribute much effort and time to provide oversight for the organization and to guide FRP Canada’s priorities into the future. Thank you to everyone who has volunteered for FRP Canada to help us reach our goals.
e-Valuation 
FRP Canada is delighted to announce the opening of the new and improved e-Valuation system, an online system developed to help family resource programs and other organizations that work with families to learn from the experiences of participants, staff members and volunteers. The e-Valuation system is one of your member benefits.
Since the e-Valuation system's launch in 2006, over 250 organizations across Canada have been able to access reports which help them with their planning and accountability requirements. During this time over 30,000 surveys have been completed by participants.

Endeavour Volunteer Consulting for Non-Profits
Last fall, FRP Canada was one of five fortunate non-profits that were chosen to work with Endeavour Volunteer Consulting for Non-profits in Toronto.
For several months, staff and Board members from FRP Canada have worked with a dedicated team of seven volunteer consultants from Endeavour to look carefully at many aspects of FRP Canada’s activities in order to identify recommendations for increasing the organization’s impact and effectiveness. A number of FRP Canada members were kind enough to take part in telephone interviews.
The Endeavour team’s final report will be presented in April, and implementation of accepted recommendations will take place over the following months. For more information about Endeavour, visit
