The Public Health Agency of Canada is excited to announce the release of the Nobody’s Perfect Parenting Program Parent Resources including the revised Parent Kit and newly developed tip sheets for parents and program brochures.
Nobody’s Perfect is an education and support program for parents of children from birth to age five, designed to meet the needs of parents who are young, single, socially or geographically isolated, or who have low income or limited formal education. Within a group setting, parents participate in a facilitated learning process which enhances their knowledge and understanding of their child’s behaviour and development, builds upon their skills, and provides them with practical parenting information.
The Nobody’s Perfect Parent Kit has been updated in collaboration with key experts and stakeholders to include new evidence-based content. The kit includes five parent books named Safety, Body, Behaviour, Parents, and Mind, as well as two growth and development charts. These resources can be purchased from FRP Canada by organizations or trained facilitators offering the program. Please order online at FRP Canada Publications. For more information on ordering the resources, please email Publications@frp.ca or call 1-866-637-7226.
The series of 19 tip sheets offers current and accessible information to parents and caregivers of children aged 0 - 5 years on a variety of topics and are available online. To download, please search "Nobody's Perfect Tipsheets" on Canada.ca. The tip sheets can be used by the general public or as supplementary resources for the Nobody’s Perfect program.
The program brochures are intended for use by intermediaries to encourage parents to participate in the program as well as attract potential facilitators to deliver the program. They are also available online to download on Canada.ca.
