Positive Discipline in Everyday Parenting, 3rd ed.

Previously published as Positive Discipline: What it is and how to do it (First ed. 2007, Second ed. 2011)

“Positive Discipline” describes a non-violent approach to teaching our children, while being respectful of the child as a learner and individual human being.
The book is beautifully laid out in a clear, visually appealing, organized way and is easy to navigate based on the child’s stage of development. Durrant expertly and empathetically addresses conflicts that will likely arise at each stage, offering positive, logical solutions and she engages parents to make constructive choices with written exercises throughout the book.

Working with Parent Groups: A Handbook for Facilitators
This handbook is an indispensable tool for parent educators in their work with families. It looks at "parent education” in the widest sense of strengthening parents' ability to fill their parenting role. The ideas in this handbook can be applied very broadly, with special emphasis on the issues that arise working with parents in facilitated groups that meet over several weeks or months.
If you are new to working with groups of parents, you will find useful advice and guidelines to get you started on the right foot. If you already have considerable experience, you will find sections that invite you to reflect on how to increase your impact.

PEPS - Program for Early Parent Support FRP Canada and Save the Children Canada have been engaged in a three year project to support PEPS in Ontario. PEPS is a parent support model that mobilizes parents with young children who may be isolated or need encouragement. The project involved training, professional development and support for PEPs groups. Check out the PEPS page to find out more about PEPS, the project, or to arrange training in your community.
